Call For Special Project Nominations

The Nature Conservancy and the SLELO-PRISM are accepting nominations for up to three partner projects that align with our Five-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2028) Goals and Objectives. The overall intent of this effort is to identify projects and contractors, including partner organizations, that can supplement the excellent work already being done by our partners and staff.  

The deadline for project nominations is January 6th, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Project budgets are not to exceed $24,500 and should be no less than $10,000. Projects do not require any matching funds. Notice of contract awards will be announced by January 16th, 2026. Formal agreements will be subject to approval by TNC and the NYSDEC Invasive Species Coordination Section.

Request for Quotes

The Nature Conservancy and SLELO PRISM are releasing two requests for quotes (RFQ) outlined below. Please review the RFQ requirements and details before submitting a quote. 

RFQ 1: 2026 Invasive Species Management Contract

We’re seeking to contract with a licensed herbicide applicator to manage invasive species across multiple Priority Conservation Areas in our region.

Treatments may include foliar applications, cut stem, stem injections, basal bark, or mechanical methods.

Contractors must be insured and have a NYSDEC Pesticide Application Category 3A certification; 3A & 5A certifications are preferred.

 

RFQ 2: Invasive Species Assessments in Tug Hill to Adirondack Corridor

We’re seeking a contractor to survey the Tug Hill–Adirondacks Corridor for Tier 1–4 invasive species.

The assessment will:

  • Identify aquatic species (e.g., water chestnut, fanwort, hydrilla).
  • Identify riparian/terrestrial species (e.g., giant hogweed, knotweed, phragmites, yellow iris).
  • Map species distribution and produce reports to guide future management and restoration efforts.

The deadline for quote submissions is January 6th, 2026, by 11:59 PM. Awards will be notified by January 16th, 2026. Projects will be reviewed and selected by the PRISM staff. Notice of contract awards will be announced by January 16th, 2026. Formal agreements will be subject to approval by TNC and the NYSDEC ISCS. 

Quotes shall include the following:  

  • Detailed quote for services
  • Demonstrable qualifications of self and/or team.
  • Names, qualifications, certifications, and insurance.
