Every season, volunteers across the SLELO region help protect the places we all cherish—monitoring for invasive species, restoring habitats, and supporting the health of our lands and waters. Your commitment makes a real difference, and we’re excited to celebrate everything you’ve contributed.
Join us for a Volunteer Appreciation Event:
- Saturday, September 26th, 2026
- Begins at 10:00 AM and ending by 2 PM (tentative on hike)
- Whetstone Gulf State Park – Beach House, located at 6065 West Road, Lowville, NY 13367
We’ll enjoy a recognition ceremony, lunch, and a scenic hike as we honor all who have volunteered to support our work, including but not limited to the following activities:
- Invasive species monitoring – Land or Water Protectors
- Biocontrol monitoring
- Invasive species removal efforts (terrestrial or aquatic)
- Habitat restoration or native plantings
- Assistance with special projects/events
- Exhibiting at events
- Trail maintenance
- Collecting water samples for eDNA
- Any other volunteer events
