Trout Lake State Forest is located in the towns of Hermon and Edwards in St. Lawrence County and spans 1,087 acres. It can be accessed from Campbell Road and the Campbell Public Forest Access Road in the town of Edwards. It can also be accessed from St. Lawrence County Route 19 and the Cedar Lake Public Forest Access Road in the town of Hermon. This forest is open year-round to the public. The Cedar Lake Trail within this forest provides a short but steep access path from the parking area on the Cedar Lake Public Forest Access Road down to the water (NYS DEC, Trout Lake State Forest). This state forest is also within the A2A corridor region, the high biodiversity area connecting the Algonquin Park in Ontario and the Adirondack Park in New York.
