Working together, the SLELO PRISM partners have brought many successes in our efforts to protect our lands and waters from the threat of invasive species. Our riparian restoration initiatives along Sandy, South Sandy, and Deer Creek tributaries will help protect the biological diversity and resilience of over 7.5 miles of these rivers. Add this to the nearly 5 miles protected along the Salmon River, which totals over 12 miles of rivers protected. Our urban forest sustainability efforts help our communities to better understand the benefits of native trees versus non-natives and continue to strengthen the resiliency of our street trees for the benefit of nature and people. Intercepting aquatic invasive species on hundreds of occasions each year serves to maintain healthy freshwaters and prevents the spread of AIS to and from water bodies across North America. The following information was taken from our 2021 Annual Report.
