Preparing for the Emerald Ash Borer Workshop
Preparing for the Emerald Ash Borer Workshop
When: Tuesday February 25th 6pm-8pm at the St. Lawrence BOCES located at 40 West Main St, Canton, NY 13617 Conference Room A
When: Wednesday March 4th 6pm-8pm at the Malone Fire Station located at 37 Finney Blvd, Malone, NY 12953
Description: Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive beetle that feeds on and kills all species of ash trees and is now known to be in our area. If you have ash trees in your yard or throughout your woodlot and would like to know how to prepare for and manage the impacts posed by EAB, join speakers Aaron Barrigar (St. Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District Forester and ISA Certified Arborist) and John Payton (National Grid Senior Supervising Distribution Forester) as they discuss this topic.
The workshop will cover how to decide whether to treat or remove your ash tree(s), what to look for when hiring an arborist, managing your woodlot after EAB, and the danger and liability infested ash trees present. This event is free to attend, open to the public and will be held at two separate locations for your convenience.
