ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Hosted by the Nature Conservancy (TNC), and SLELO PRISM, this project leverages Environmental DNA (eDNA) monitoring to detect the presence of aquatic invasive species, and lake whitefish during spawning season in tributaries of eastern Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River.

Volunteers are sought to help with a variety of tasks, including:

  • Collecting water samples.
  • Transporting water samples to locations for analysis.
  • Collecting footage through the use of underwater cameras and remote operating vehicles.
  •  Taking photos or videos to be used on our website and reports for the project.
