If you want to manage it, you have to measure it. One of the first steps of forest management, including urban and community forest management, is an assessment of where you are now so that you can manage for your goals into the future. Eric Greenfield of the USDA Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis Unit of the Northern Research Station will present and demonstrate how iTree Canopy and some other iTree tools can help you do that initial assessment and have basic information to start forest management planning.
Speaker: Dr. Eric Greenfield serves as a forester with the US Forest Service supporting urban forestry research, including i-Tree.
