As part of our Pledge to Protect marketing initiative we’ve designed billboards to be placed in strategic locations throughout the SLELO region. At this time, there are three billboards up and more to follow between now and October.

The billboards feature water and landscape scenes that signify the five pledge categories of the Pledge to Protect including- gardens, communities, forests, waters, lands/trails.

Billboard Locations

Showcased below are the billboard locations, and the time frames in which they will be posted.

Just for fun, we encourage you to visit one of these billboard locations and take a photo of yourself by it, and then post that photo on Facebook including #PledgeToProtect in the caption.

Photo Contest

We plan to launch more billboards next year and would like to feature photos taken in the St. Lawrence Eastern Lake Ontario Region. So we’re hosting a photo contest in which winners will have their photos featured on some of our upcoming billboards.

Pledge to Protect

The Pledge-to-Protect is a fun, positive, inviting, engaging and rewarding way to participate in invasive species prevention and management.

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Visit iPledgetoProtect.org
  2. Sign the pledge and select the outdoor areas you spend the most time in.
  3. Check your inbox for your confirmation email.
  4. Explore the resources in the virtual toolkits or download the PDFs.
  5. Earn a virtual badge for each pledge you take.
  6. Every month, you’ll receive a special Pledge-to-Protect email about a prevention/management activity to help you fulfill your pledge OR a highlight of an invasive species to keep an eye out for.
