Learn what SLELO partners are doing at Whele State Park to prevent and control invasive species:
Invasive species control at Whele State Park has so far concentrated on swallow-worts. The primary methods of swallow-wort control at Whele State Park are mowing and mechanical removal. In July, 2010 partners will organize “pod pulls” to remove pods before seeds develop. They will also set up experimental plots and mechanically remove whole swallow-wort plants.
