Help to Protect Our Waters
Aquatic invasive fish threaten the health of our waters. Learn about invasive fish that are of concern in the St. Lawrence River and Eastern Lake Ontario Region.
Learn how you can help by keeping an eye out for these fish and reporting your observations.
SLELO PRISM will host two workshops listed below:
Tuesday, June 25th 10am-2:30pm at the Nicandri Nature Center located at 19 Robinson Bay Rd, Massena, NY 13662. Special guest Sunci Avlijas with McGill University will give an exclusive overview of their research exploring the impacts tench will have on native fish populations and the aquatic food web in the St. Lawrence River.
Topics at the 6/25 workshop in Massena will include: EVENT FLIER
- A new threat to the St. Lawrence River, Tench impacts & special research
- Common misconceptions of snakehead & overview of Asian carp
- Preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species
- Help protect our waters: Strengthening Early Detection
- Making observations using a mobile application- iMapInvasives

SLELO PRISM Partner Meeting Schedule: Our partners have decided to meet on a seasonal/quarterly basis. We will meet the third week of these months: January, April, July, and October alternating between Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting at 10 am.
